SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (KS1)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Leigh, supporting children in Key Stage 1. The role starts in September and offers a full‑time, ongoing placement working closely with the class teacher.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support for pupils who need additional assistance.
• Deliver pastoral care and help create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
• Assist with assessing pupil progress and maintaining accurate records.
• Support pupils with special educational needs across various year groups.
• Undertake lunchtime duty and other supervisory tasks as required.

Required profile

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary‑school setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• ICT proficiency to support learning activities.
