SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Merton)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a vibrant two‑form entry primary school in Merton, South West London. You will work closely with pupils who have additional needs, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support to help them access the curriculum and progress socially and academically.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small‑group assistance to pupils with SEND.
- Support learning, behaviour management and classroom activities.
- Assist pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt resources and monitor pupil progress.
Required profile
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant.
- Experience supporting children with SEND (ASD, ADHD, speech/language, SEMH) is desirable.
- Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake training).
- GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or equivalent.
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with online update service.
- Two professional child‑related references covering the last two years.
Required skills

- Competitive daily rate of £100‑£115 (depending on experience).
- Full‑time, term‑time position (8:15 am – 3:30 pm, Monday‑Friday).
- Start date in September 2026.
