SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (September Start)

About the role
Join a warm and inclusive primary school in Plymouth as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. This full‑time, term‑time position supports pupils with a range of needs, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD and speech‑language difficulties, helping them achieve their individual learning goals.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with SEN, focusing on personalised learning and development.
- Assist the class teacher and SEN Coordinator in implementing and monitoring EHCP targets.
- Support pupils in developing emotional regulation and social interaction skills.
- Help prepare and adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
Required profile
- Proven experience working with children who have special educational needs in a school or care setting.
- Patient, adaptable and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, parents and other professionals.
