SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Temp to Perm)

About the role

A supportive primary school in Shepherds Bush is launching a new SEN unit for the upcoming academic year and needs a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils across the primary age range.
• Deliver targeted interventions for autism, ADHD, speech and language, and social‑emotional needs.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support.
• Assist pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social interaction.
• Help create a calm, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.

Required profile

• Passionate about supporting children with SEN.
• Calm, patient and positive approach.
• Adaptable, resilient and proactive.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
