About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Good and Outstanding primary schools in Burgess Hill. The role is full‑time and temporary with the potential to become permanent, offering a rewarding career path in education.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and group support to SEN pupils, helping them achieve academic and social goals.
- Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to deliver individual education plans.
- Assist in preparing learning materials and adapting resources to meet diverse needs.
- Promote an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor pupil progress and record observations for review.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with SEN in a primary setting (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proactive, caring approach to supporting children’s learning.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
