About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary girls’ school in East London. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider SEN team to support pupils with complex additional needs and help them achieve their learning goals.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to secondary‑aged pupils with SEN and complex needs.
- Assist pupils with learning, communication, independence and classroom engagement.
- Deliver personal care and support mobility, including manual handling where required.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and the SEN team to plan and implement support strategies.
- Maintain a safe, positive and supportive learning environment.
Required profile
- Degree‑educated (or equivalent).
- Previous experience supporting children, young people or adults with SEN is desirable.
- Comfortable providing personal care and undertaking manual handling.
- Patient, resilient and confident when working with pupils with complex needs.
- Genuine interest in building a career in SEN education.
