About the role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Barking & Dagenham. You will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to provide tailored support for students with special educational needs, particularly those on the autistic spectrum.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SEN, focusing on ASD.
- Collaborate with teachers and the SEN team to create an inclusive classroom environment.
- Promote independence and develop communication, social and learning skills using appropriate strategies.
- Assist with lesson preparation and adapt resources to meet individual needs.
Required profile
- Patience, empathy and strong interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience working with SEN pupils is desirable.
- Willingness to undergo training and demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment.
Required skills
What we offer
- Full‑time, 8:15 am – 3:30 pm schedule.
- Daily rate of £95‑£115.
- September start date.
