SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Full‑Time)

About the role

Join a welcoming secondary school in Harrow as a full‑time SEN Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence and develop independence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for students with autism, ADHD, speech & language needs, moderate learning difficulties and SEMH.
• Assist teachers in delivering inclusive lessons and adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
• Implement strategies from Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and support positive behaviour management.
• Monitor student progress, give feedback to teachers and the SEND team, and maintain accurate records.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers and external professionals.
• Help with classroom organisation and wider school activities while adhering to safeguarding and confidentiality policies.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, preferably in a school setting.
• Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to helping every student succeed.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff.
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures and confidentiality requirements.
