SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Sept Start)

About the role
Join a supportive secondary school in Devon as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. You will work with students aged 11‑16 who have autism and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, helping them achieve their full potential. This full‑time temporary position starts in September.
Key responsibilities
- Provide targeted one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with autism and SEMH needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons that are adapted to individual learning requirements.
- Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour through supportive interactions.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment by applying safeguarding best practices.
Required profile
- Previous experience in SEN support or youth work with secondary‑school‑aged students.
- Team‑player with resilience, empathy and a commitment to student development.
- Good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
