SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Upminster)

About the role

Join a vibrant, inclusive secondary school in Upminster as a SEN Teaching Assistant. You will work full‑time, providing tailored support to secondary‑aged pupils with special educational needs, helping them succeed academically and socially.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions for students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other learning difficulties.
• Assist teachers in adapting lesson materials to ensure curriculum accessibility.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development and foster independent learning skills.
• Collaborate with the school SENDCo to monitor progress and implement individual education plans.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
• Background in roles such as SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, School Support Worker, Cover Supervisor, Youth Worker, Community Mentor, Support Worker or Care Assistant.
• Patient, adaptable and committed to removing barriers to learning.
