SEN Teaching Assistant – September Start (Full‑time)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to start in September 2026 across a range of special schools and alternative provision settings in Southampton. You will work directly with children who have additional needs, behavioural challenges or barriers to learning, helping them achieve their personal and educational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised support to pupils with diverse special educational needs.
• Assist in planning and delivering creative, therapeutic and inclusive activities.
• Promote safety, emotional well‑being and positive engagement throughout the school day.
• Support daily routines, emotional regulation and the development of independence.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families through clear communication.

Required profile

• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Professional references covering the past 24 months, preferably involving work with children or vulnerable individuals.
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in childcare, education or a related field, or equivalent experience.
