SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist Primary School (Milton Keynes)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Milton Keynes. The role supports pupils with complex needs such as autism, speech and language difficulties, specific learning difficulties and other developmental challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to help pupils access personalised learning.
• Encourage communication, independence and emotional development.
• Implement structured, therapeutic approaches for children with autism and SLD.
• Collaborate with class teachers, therapists and external professionals.
• Maintain a safe, consistent and engaging classroom environment.

Required profile

• Experience in SEN settings, mainstream SEN support or related care roles.
• Background working with pupils who have autism, SLD or communication needs.
• Experience in early years or primary support roles is advantageous.
• Enthusiasm to learn and develop in a specialist environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of autism, speech and language strategies and specific learning difficulties.
