SEN Teaching Assistant – Support Children with Additional Needs

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a special school in Tower Hamlets, East London. This role offers aspiring psychologists hands‑on experience supporting children with complex learning needs, autism and communication difficulties.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering inclusive lessons and implementing individual learning plans.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to promote social, emotional and academic development.
• Deliver targeted interventions under the guidance of qualified professionals.
• Collaborate with therapists, teachers and families to ensure consistent support.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and activities.

Required profile

• Passionate about working with children with special educational needs.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient.
• Willingness to learn and work collaboratively.
• No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
