SEN Teaching Assistant – Support Children with Learning Difficulties

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist school in Longfield. You will support pupils with Multiple Learning Difficulties, Autism, and complex needs across primary and secondary ages, working in a nurturing, therapeutic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher and support staff in delivering personalised learning activities.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to up to 10 pupils per class.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to implement therapeutic approaches.
• Support pupils during transitions and daily routines.

Required profile

• Passion for working with children who have special educational needs.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to a therapeutic, student‑centred approach.
• Experience in healthcare, nursing, or working with learning difficulties is a plus.
