SEN Teaching Assistant – Support Pupils in Redcar

About the role
We are looking for a calm, compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in Redcar schools and Pupil Referral Units. You will help create a safe, structured environment where each child can thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Autism or PMLD on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
- Assist in managing behaviour and building trust with students.
- Create a calm, structured classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver personalised learning plans.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- Confidence supporting needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, PMLD and challenging behaviours.
- Calm, patient and resilient approach.
- SEN qualification or a care‑based qualification.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential) and references ready for clearance.
