SEN Teaching Assistant – Support Pupils with SEND

About the role

We are looking for a caring and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school community in Sutton. This full‑time, term‑time position offers the chance to make a real difference by helping pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities access learning and build confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEND.
• Assist students with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and learning challenges.
• Support the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver effective interventions.
• Promote independence, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning.
• Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school experience desirable but not essential).
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required.
