SEN Teaching Assistant – Support Pupils with Special Needs

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Leeds. You will work closely with teachers to help pupils with Special Educational Needs access the curriculum and achieve their potential. The role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives in a welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEN.
• Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Monitor and record pupil progress.

Required profile

• Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
• A patient, caring, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.
• Ability to adapt learning activities to individual needs.
• Effective record‑keeping of pupil progress.
