SEN Teaching Assistant – Support Students with Special Needs

About the role

Reed is seeking motivated SEN Teaching Assistants to join schools in Plymouth. You will play a vital part in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them achieve their full potential while acting as a positive role model.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted, one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils with special educational needs.
• Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt activities to suit each learner.
• Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals to improve educational and behavioural outcomes.
• Apply strong behaviour‑management techniques to maintain a productive environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with SEN pupils or transferable experience from care, coaching or youth work.
• Confident, resilient and proactive when facing challenges.
• Passionate about supporting young learners and helping them succeed.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
