SEN Teaching Assistant – Swindon

About the role

Join a supportive school environment in Swindon as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. You will work directly with pupils who have a range of additional needs, helping them achieve academic, social and emotional progress.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEN.
• Assist students with academic tasks, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Implement engagement and positive‑behaviour strategies.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH).
• Genuine passion for helping young people overcome learning barriers.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
