SEN Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in an Ofsted‑rated Outstanding academy located in Tower Hamlets, East London. This full‑time, long‑term position starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to work within a mainstream setting while providing specialised assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with ASD, SLD and PMLD.
• Assist the class teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery.
• Support students with personal care needs where required.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and learning.
• Build constructive relationships with students, staff and families.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour.
• Experience working with individuals aged 2‑19 years.
• Valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK and two professional references.
