About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work one‑to‑one with a Year 2 pupil with autism in a primary school in Camden, North London. The role runs term‑time only, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, providing consistent support throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one‑to‑one assistance to the pupil during classroom activities and less structured times.
- Implement communication and emotional‑regulation strategies recommended by external agencies.
- Support the pupil with transitions, engagement, and social interaction.
- Collaborate closely with the SENCO, class teacher and parents to monitor progress.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting children with autism.
- Calm, consistent, and proactive approach.
- Ability to build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil.
- Patience and nurturing attitude.
