SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 4 Support

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a Year 4 pupil who requires additional help when becoming dysregulated. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 support to the designated child, using de‑escalation techniques.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
- Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages emotional, social, and academic growth.
- Monitor the pupil’s progress and share updates with staff and parents.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with children who have additional needs.
- Strong understanding of SEN, especially de‑escalation methods.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Proactive and flexible approach to meeting individual student needs.
