SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 6 Support (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a Year 6 pupil at The Grange School in Runcorn. The role focuses on helping the child thrive academically, socially and emotionally during their final year of primary education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 assistance to a Year 6 student with additional learning needs.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt lessons, resources and activities to suit the pupil’s learning style.
• Support the pupil’s social, emotional and academic development.
• Promote an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere aligned with school values.
• Assist with behaviour‑management strategies when required.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school or SEN setting.
• Understanding of needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other learning difficulties.
• Compassionate, patient and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to obtain a valid DBS check on the Update Service.
