SEN Tutor – 1:1 Support for Children with Additional Needs

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic SEN Tutors to deliver 1:1 tutoring and mentoring for children and young people who need alternative educational provision across Dorset, Hampshire and the South Coast. You will work closely with local authorities to provide personalised support that helps learners thrive outside a traditional classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored one‑to‑one tutoring sessions for students with SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH and related needs.
• Develop and adapt learning materials to suit individual educational requirements.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents and local authority partners.
• Maintain accurate records of sessions, outcomes and any safeguarding concerns.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development offered by Prospero Teaching.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience in an educational setting (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Mentor, Cover Supervisor, Teacher).
• Passion for supporting vulnerable learners on a one‑to‑one basis.
• Ability to work flexibly, including part‑time and variable hours.
• Desirable but not essential experience working with SEN students.
