SEN Tutor – Flexible Part‑time Role in Cumbria

About the role
Randstad Student Support partners with schools across Cumbria to provide specialist tutoring for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will deliver personalised support both face‑to‑face and online, following each student’s EHCP plan to boost knowledge, confidence and self‑esteem.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging 1:1 or small‑group sessions (up to 1:6) tailored to diverse learning styles.
- Create lesson plans aligned with EHCP objectives and student interests.
- Assess progress, record attainment and report via internal systems.
- Collaborate with schools, foster carers and social workers to ensure holistic support.
- Adhere strictly to safeguarding and KCSIE guidelines.
Required profile
- Qualified teachers (QTS/NQTs), Teaching Assistants (Level 1‑3), HLTAs or recent graduates.
- Minimum six months experience working with SEN pupils, disengaged youth or alternative provision.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour with patience and empathy.
- Strong IT competency and reliable broadband for online sessions.
- Valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
