SEN Tutor – Flexible Part‑Time/Full‑Time Opportunities

About the role

We are looking for experienced SEN Tutors to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for children and young people with special educational needs in Thurrock and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible hours and both part‑time and full‑time options, allowing you to fit work around your lifestyle while making a real difference.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised one‑to‑one tuition sessions for learners with a range of needs.
• Assess individual requirements and create tailored learning plans aligned with EHCP outcomes.
• Monitor progress, record outcomes and provide regular feedback to learners and families.
• Adapt teaching approaches to suit autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, anxiety‑related barriers and other identified needs.
• Build trusting relationships with learners, encouraging confidence, resilience and independence.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an SEN Tutor, qualified teacher (QTS/PGCE), SENCO or specialist intervention practitioner.
• Passion for supporting vulnerable learners and ability to work flexibly across multiple sites.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with families and reporting progress.
