SEN Tutor – Maths & English (Part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Tutor to deliver maths and English lessons to young learners in Beaminster. The role is part‑time and focuses on students with special educational needs and social‑emotional and mental health (SEMH) requirements. You will join Prospero Teaching’s specialist team and help pupils reach their full academic potential.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging maths and English sessions tailored to individual SEN/SEMH needs.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress on a weekly basis, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and weekly progress reports.
• Adapt teaching methods to be empathetic, patient and creative, ensuring a supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with school staff and safeguarding officers to uphold child protection standards.

Required profile

• Minimum one year experience working in UK schools, preferably with SEN or SEMH learners.
• Confident delivering the UK National Curriculum for Maths and English.
• Empathetic, reliable and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to build trusting relationships with students.
