SEN Tutor – One-to-One Tuition (Full/Part Time)

About the role

We are looking for passionate SEN tutors to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who are currently out of school. The role is based in Sittingbourne and surrounding areas and can be undertaken on a full‑time or part‑time basis during term time.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons in English and Maths, aligned to each pupil’s EHCP targets.
• Provide one‑to‑one, needs‑based tuition sessions, adapting teaching strategies to individual learning challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, attendance and planning hours.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and external professionals to support each child’s development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or extensive experience delivering one‑to‑one tuition for children with special educational needs.
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and targeted interventions.
• Ability to work independently and manage lesson planning for English and Maths.
• Excellent communication, patient and supportive approach.

Required skills

• Teaching English and Maths at primary/secondary level.
• Lesson planning and differentiation for SEN learners.
• Record‑keeping of student progress and attendance.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £27 for QTS holders and £25 for non‑QTS tutors.
• Bonus hour pay for every fifth hour worked to cover planning and preparation.
