SEN Tutor – Part‑Time, Flexible Hours

About the role

We are seeking a passionate SEN Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one tuition in Functional Skills, Maths and English for looked‑after children and students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The role is part‑time and temporary, with flexible morning, noon or evening sessions in Southwark.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 tuition in Functional Skills, Maths and/or English, adapting lessons to each learner’s ability and EHCP.
• Support pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, global development delay and communication difficulties.
• Design and deliver individualised lesson plans that align with identified support needs.
• Maintain a calm, consistent, and encouraging approach to build trust and engagement.
• Liaise with parents, carers and professionals to ensure coordinated support.

Required profile

• Minimum one year experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational or therapeutic setting.
• Experience teaching or supporting Functional Skills and core subjects (Maths or English).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
