SEN Tutor – Strood & Kent – £25‑£27/hr

About the role

We are seeking passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) tutors to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in Strood and surrounding areas. The role is flexible, allowing you to work part‑time or full‑time during term time, supporting students until they secure a permanent school placement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised English and Maths lessons in line with each student’s EHCP targets.
• Provide one‑to‑one, needs‑based tuition sessions during school hours.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, attendance and planning.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or extensive experience delivering one‑to‑one SEN tuition.
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and targeted interventions.
• Excellent communication, patient and supportive attitude.
• Flexible teaching style adaptable to individual learning needs.

• Hourly rate of £27 for QTS holders, £25 for non‑QTS tutors.
• Bonus: an extra hour’s pay for every 5th hour worked for planning and preparation.
