SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Stockport)

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Stockport. The role provides one‑to‑one support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver personalised 1:1 support to the assigned pupil during all lessons.
- Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum and developing confidence.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to implement tailored support plans.
- Support behaviour management using a calm and nurturing approach.
- Maintain clear communication with staff and parents regarding progress.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
- Experience working with pupils with Autism (ASC) and/or ADHD.
- Calm, patient and nurturing attitude towards behaviour and learning.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
- Team Teach training desirable but not essential.
