SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools in Surrey

About the role

We are looking for compassionate SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistants to work in mainstream primary schools across Surrey. You will support pupils with additional needs, helping them thrive in an inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one tailored support for an assigned pupil.
• Support SEND needs including ASD, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, and social development.
• Work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP targets and support plans.
• Adapt learning resources to meet the individual needs of the child.
• Promote a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Required profile

• Hold at least a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 3 desirable).
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within SEND or inclusion.
• Confident supporting pupils with additional needs in a mainstream primary setting.
• Patient, empathetic and committed to pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply) and be available Monday‑Friday.
