SEND Case Officer

About the role

We are partnering with a Greater London Local Authority to find an experienced SEND Officer for an initial three‑month contract. The role focuses on post‑16 children, requiring recent experience with this age group and a strong understanding of SEND legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) within statutory deadlines.
• Manage a caseload of existing assessments and determine appropriate funding and provision in line with council policy.
• Review and update EHCPs through annual reviews and meetings.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with families, schools and multi‑agency professionals.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience as a SEND officer within a Local Authority.
• Recent experience working with secondary and post‑16 age groups.
• Secure working knowledge of current SEND legislation.
• Engagement with the latest SEND White Paper.
