SEND Class Teacher – Complex Needs Provision

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic SEND Class Teacher to lead a primary class for pupils with complex needs, including autism, communication difficulties and learning disabilities, starting September 2026 in Peckham.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons aligned with individual EHCP outcomes.
• Lead and support a team of Teaching Assistants within the classroom.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, producing regular reports.
• Collaborate with the SENCO, therapists, external agencies and families.
• Develop and implement behaviour and communication strategies.
• Create a structured, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND and complex needs.
• Strong understanding of autism, communication difficulties and sensory needs.
• Excellent classroom management and differentiation skills.
• Compassionate, patient and resilient attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EHCP frameworks and SEND legislation.
• Ability to design and adapt curriculum for diverse learners.
