SEND English Teacher (SEMH Provision)

About the role
We are seeking a passionate SEND Teacher with a specialism in English to join a small, nurturing SEMH provision in Wisbech. The school supports pupils aged 10‑17 who have experienced disruption or disengagement in mainstream education, offering a calm rural environment and personalised learning.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons for small groups and individual learners.
- Prepare teaching materials, maintain accurate registers and records.
- Monitor pupil progress, assess learning outcomes and produce detailed reports.
- Support pupils in building confidence, independence and positive attitudes toward learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents and carers to achieve the best outcomes.
- Promote positive behaviour using a trauma‑informed approach.
- Contribute to a safe, respectful and nurturing learning environment.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a SEND, alternative provision or specialist setting.
- Demonstrated experience teaching English.
- Genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
- Resilience, creativity and a child‑centred approach.
