SEND Learning Support – 1:1 Primary School Assistant

About the role

We are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Yate to provide a flexible, dedicated learning partner for a pupil with complex SEND needs. The role offers a rewarding opportunity to support a Year 6 child throughout the school day, helping them engage, regulate emotions and build confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 support within a Year 6 classroom.
• Assist the pupil with emotional regulation, classroom engagement and learning activities.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive daily routines.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the wider SEND team to ensure consistent support.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting pupils with complex SEND needs in a school or similar setting.
• Calm, patient and adaptable in challenging situations.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
• Reliable, proactive and available to start as soon as possible.
