SEND Learning Support Assistant – PMLD School

About the role

The SEND Learning Support Assistant will work with pupils who have profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) in a specialist school. You will support learning both inside and outside the classroom, help implement personalised learning plans, and provide care and encouragement throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with PMLD in classroom and non‑classroom activities.
• Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans.
• Provide ongoing care, encouragement, and supervision throughout the school day.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to promote pupil progress.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualified Learning Support Assistant.
• Relevant qualifications and training for working with SEND pupils.
• Completed enhanced DBS check and subscription to the DBS Update Service.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
