SEND Learning Support Assistant – Primary School (Full‑time)

About the role

This full‑time position supports a small class of five early years and Key Stage 1 pupils who have diagnosed autism. Working within a Designated Specialist Provision, you will help children engage with a sensory‑rich curriculum and specialist therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to each pupil, encouraging participation in learning and development activities.
• Assist teaching staff with preparation of resources and materials.
• Accompany children to specialist therapy sessions and help implement therapeutic strategies.
• Deliver personal and intimate care where required, in line with safeguarding policies.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and daily activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting pupils with autism, preferably in a specialist SEN setting.
• Passion for working with young children and a desire to develop within the special‑needs sector.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff.
• Commitment to uphold the highest standards of child safety and confidentiality.
