SEND Learning Support Assistant – Term Time (Temp to Perm)

About the role

Join a dedicated team supporting young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Lambeth. This term‑time, temporary‑to‑permanent position offers an hourly rate of £16‑£17 and focuses on facilitating access to learning programmes and college services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide person‑centred learning support to learners with severe and complex learning difficulties, including personal care when required.
• Assist individuals or small groups to engage with activities and promote independent work.
• Build effective relationships with learners, teachers, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Support learners with medical needs, personal care and mobility in line with their instructions.

Required profile

• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and discrimination issues.
• Willingness to assist with medical and personal care needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Valid child and adult DBS check.

Required skills

• Basic IT proficiency.
