SEND Lecturer – Employability & Vocational Studies

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic SEND Lecturer to deliver Employability and Vocational Studies programmes, including Functional Skills English and Maths, to learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The role supports learners in gaining the confidence and skills needed for further education, employment, or independent living.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, inclusive teaching across Employability, Vocational Studies and Functional Skills.
• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
• Embed Functional Skills English and Maths within vocational contexts.
• Monitor and assess learner progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback.
• Develop learners’ employability, communication and workplace behaviours.
• Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, curriculum teams, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
• Experience teaching learners with SEND.
• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths.
• Strong classroom management and learner engagement abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and learner welfare.
