SEND Primary Class Teacher

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and resilient Class Teacher to join our specialist SEND primary school in Romford. You will work with pupils who have complex needs, helping them achieve their individual potential in a supportive, nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, highly differentiated lessons tailored to each pupil’s needs.
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionals.
• Assess, monitor and celebrate progress against EHCP outcomes and personalised targets.
• Support pupils’ communication, emotional regulation and social development.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold high expectations for all learners.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching primary‑aged pupils, preferably in a SEND or specialist setting.
• Strong understanding of complex learning needs and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Patient, adaptable and committed to achieving the best outcomes for every child.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Condition, severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and related sensory or physical needs.
• Ability to design and implement personalised curricula that develop communication, independence, confidence and life skills.

What we offer

• Permanent contract with a daily rate of £200‑£300, dependent on experience.
