SEND Specialist Tutor (Part‑time, Surrey)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking inspirational SEND Specialist Tutors to work across Surrey, supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The role involves delivering one‑to‑one, tailored lessons during school hours to re‑engage pupils who have become disengaged from mainstream learning.
Key responsibilities
- Design, plan and deliver personalised 1:1 lessons that address gaps in a pupil’s education.
- Provide structure and routine to help pupils return to school or continue their educational development.
- Submit weekly progress reports to monitor each pupil’s advancement.
- Collaborate closely with Prospero Teaching to ensure effective support for each family.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- UK classroom teaching experience, preferably with challenging behaviour or disengaged pupils.
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two professional child‑related references.
- Creative, patient and able to think outside the box.
