SEND Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a SEND Teacher for a vibrant special school in Swindon, supporting pupils aged 5‑19 with moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism, ADHD and social communication needs. The role offers a varied, hands‑on environment where learning extends beyond the classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, multi‑sensory lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Create practical, creative learning experiences that promote independence and life‑skills.
• Support pupils in developing everyday skills, confidence, communication and behaviour.
• Utilise ICT and assistive technology to enhance engagement.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Adapt teaching style throughout the day to meet sensory and emotional needs.
• Collaborate with a supportive team to monitor progress.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
• Experience in a primary or SEND setting.
• Strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Calm, flexible and caring approach.
• Enthusiasm for working with children with SEND; ECTs welcome.
