About the role
We are seeking a qualified SEND Teacher to lead a Key Stage 3 complex‑needs class in a specialist school in South Birmingham. The role starts in September 2026 and involves delivering a broad, balanced curriculum tailored to the individual needs of a small group of students.
Key responsibilities
- Teach a Key Stage 3 class of students with autism, communication difficulties and physical disabilities.
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that promote communication, independence and learning.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and pastoral staff to support each pupil’s development.
- Create a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment.
- Utilise a range of strategies and resources to engage students and track progress.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
- Experience supporting students with autism, communication challenges and physical disabilities.
- Creative, adaptable and able to foster a calm, engaging learning atmosphere.
