About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a highly‑regarded secondary school in North Hackney, London. The role involves delivering tailored interventions for students with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) across Key Stages 3‑5. You will work within a supportive inclusion team to help learners overcome barriers and achieve their potential.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individual and small‑group lessons for pupils with ASD, SEMH and other additional needs.
- Implement and monitor SEND interventions in line with each student’s EHCP.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents and external agencies to coordinate support.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, assessments and interventions.
- Contribute to the school’s inclusion strategy and share best practice with staff.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and proven experience as a SEND teacher.
- Demonstrated experience supporting pupils with ASD and/or SEMH.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- Ability to design engaging, differentiated lessons.
- Collaborative mindset and genuine passion for inclusion.
Required skills
- Knowledge of SEND legislation and EHCP processes.
- Understanding of ASD and SEMH educational strategies.
