SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism, SEMH & Complex Needs (Wirral)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism, SEMH and complex needs across specialist schools in the Wirral. The role starts in September 2026 and offers long‑term, full‑time employment within a supportive educational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils.
• Implement personalised learning and support plans.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to create an inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience in schools, care settings, residential settings, youth work or support work.
• Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.
