SEND Teaching Assistant – Full‑Time in West Derby

About the role
Join a welcoming primary school in West Derby as a SEND Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils with special educational needs across Key Stages 1 and 2, helping them access the curriculum and develop independence.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to SEND pupils.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive engagement.
- Work with class teachers and the SENDCo to deliver individual support plans.
- Adapt learning activities and resources to meet diverse needs.
- Collaborate with staff, parents and external professionals.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills and confidence handling challenging behaviour.
- Calm, patient and consistent approach.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.
- Two professional references and an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
