SEND Teaching Assistant – Hertfordshire

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, inclusive school in Hertfordshire. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils with special educational needs achieve their full potential in a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SEND, ensuring they can access the curriculum and meet individual goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and the wider support team to implement personalised strategies.
• Assist with classroom activities, learning tasks and promote pupil independence.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development.
• Help maintain a positive, safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs.
• Genuine passion for working with children who have extra needs.
• Understanding of strategies for communication, learning, behavioural or emotional challenges.
• Strong communication, patience and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to inclusion and pupil development.
