SEND Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs in schools across Sussex. You will join a supportive network provided by Reed Education, helping create an inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist pupils with SEN in daily classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Work closely with teachers to adapt resources and deliver differentiated instruction.
• Collaborate with parents and external professionals to support each child’s individual education plan.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in an educational setting.
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, CACHE, a degree or equivalent in SEN support or education.
• Compassionate, patient and adaptable approach to teaching.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork with staff, families and specialists.
