SEND Teaching Assistant – KS1 & KS2 (Tottenham)

About the role

Join a welcoming North London primary school as a SEND Teaching Assistant supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You will help children feel safe, seen, and supported throughout their school day, working closely with teachers and pastoral staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEND, including ASD, SEMH and ADHD.
• Use de‑escalation techniques and sensory interventions to manage emotional and behavioural needs.
• Build trust, routine and confidence for pupils during learning and play activities.
• Collaborate with class teachers, parents and the school’s inclusion team to ensure consistent progress.

Required profile

• Team Teach or PEBS training completed.
• Previous experience supporting children with SEND in KS1 or KS2.
• Calm, proactive approach with a good sense of humour.
• Confidence in handling regulation, transitions and behaviour plans.

Required skills

• Knowledge of de‑escalation strategies.
• Familiarity with sensory interventions.
